The late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the father of modern-day Dubai and one of the founding fathers of the United Arab Emirates, possessed an exceptional ability to look beyond what is and envision what could be. Determined and constantly challenging convention, he was the driving force behind many of the emirate’s earliest infrastructure projects, including the Jebel Ali Port and the Dubai International Airport.
His vision was carried on by Sheikh Maktoum and realized under the leadership and guidance of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Conceived as an aerotropolis, Dubai World Central will strengthen Dubai’s position as a centre of commerce and advance the remarkable story of Dubai.
